Decorating a children’s room is not an easy task
Although it seems simple at first glance, furnishing a children’s room often runs into many problems.
A children’s room is a complex room: it is a bedroom, a classroom, and a playroom, all at the same time and in the same space. At the age when all these purposes are needed, the child already has a “built-up taste” – a favorite color, a character from a cartoon, and what is out of the question. And parents have to manage. Or the child is a teenager and the room will be completely decorated to her or his taste.
That’s why designers suggest dividing it into zones, as much as the area of the room allows. Only when you set the boundaries of the zones, do style, materials, furniture, decoration, and lighting come into order. What is certain is that, whatever decoration you decide on, the children’s room must always be comfortable above all.
A table – or a shelf that will have that function, a place to store books and chairs are necessary. It would be best if this part were located near the window, because of the natural light. If the child is left-handed, place the table to the right of the space, or to the left if the child writes with the right hand. Thus, the light will always fall well on the book or notebook.
The bed should be as far away from the window as possible, because of the sun, street lights, and noise – although you don’t have to worry about that in the Danube Trilogy. It would be best if there was a screen or chest of drawers between the bed and the window.

The play area
The ideal space is the floor, so you need a suitable carpet or other warm floor covering. In smaller rooms, it is logical for the play area to be in the middle of the room, and in larger rooms, it would be ideal to allocate one of the corners of the room.
Don’t forget to include cupboards or decorative boxes in which – at least initially – you will store the toys. And it will be easier for the child to learn to keep the space tidy.
What if there is no space for all this?
And there is a solution for that. The bed is raised and the play area is below it. The table is lowered under the window and is raised when in use. The most important thing is to choose a quality mattress and a children’s work chair that is comfortable and provides good back support. Everything else is changeable and can be completed in accordance with the child’s wishes.
